Maximum energy efficiency with the TAS range
In a nursing home, ensuring a stable and comfortable indoor climate throughout the year is essential for the health and well-being of the residents. With this primary need in mind, a care home in the province of Varese turned to HiRef for the design and implementation of a system capable of managing the production of chilled water, hot water, and Domestic Hot Water (DHW), with a particular focus on energy efficiency, low noise levels, and environmental sustainability.
At the heart of the system are two air-to-water reversible heat pumps from the TAS range, specially designed with vapor injection compressors to achieve water temperatures of 60°C, taking into account the harsh winter operating conditions.
The units feature dual-circuit configurations and are rated Class A for energy efficiency, ensuring both high operational performance and maximum redundancy. Additionally, R454B refrigerant was selected for its low GWP, helping reduce environmental impact while maintaining compatibility with high operating temperatures.
The system design includes both heat pumps serving the air conditioning and air renewal system (AHU). One of the units is equipped with a dedicated control logic that manages DHW production by reading a temperature probe installed on the DHW buffer tank, and operating a three-way valve to switch system modes accordingly.
Finally, the Low Noise configuration selected for these units made it possible to comply with the strict acoustic requirements of the facility, effectively reducing sound emissions and keeping both power and sound pressure levels within the permitted limits.
