Solution
A complex installation to manage room temperature and humidity, controlled by HiNode, a system that regulates the operation of each unit and ensures consumption optimisation
Pompeii (Naples), a Unesco world heritage site, is known all over the world for unique archaeological finds.
HiRef took part in a project, financed by the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage, which had the purpose of air conditioning the rooms used for the conservation of historical exhibits from the archaeological site of Pompeii.
The rooms that contain historical finds must be kept at specific levels of temperature and humidity, to allow preservation of the artefacts over time. To respond to this need, HiRef installed a system served by a multipurpose air/water unit and a low temperature glycol water chiller, supervised by the HiNode system, designed to find the perfect balance between system effectiveness and efficiency.
Thanks to 3 chilled water perimeter air conditioners, it was possible to air-condition the archive and control the thermal and hygrometric conditions, with very tight tolerances, and at the same time maintain, in the adjacent room where photographic plates are kept, a constant temperature of 5°C and relative humidity of 30%, again with minimal tolerances.
Units installed:
1X JCUR 0320 (JREF CW R)
2X TCUR 0380 (TRF CW)
1X MSA 052 (MSL)
1 Outdoor hydronic kit including hot and cold storage units + system pumps
HiNode supervision system
