The "Bernardo Nagar" is the only hospital on the island of Pantelleria and represents an essential health support for citizens and tourists. The facility is located in front of the sea and therefore more exposed, compared to the hinterland, to the constant saline winds that, with their corrosive action, can quickly damage the air conditioning units outside the building.

HiRef was chosen to replace outdated and time-scarred air conditioning systems, with the need to install units that could reconcile the need for constant sanitary air conditioning and weather resistance.

The TPS144HL and TPS104HL air-to-water heat pumps met the needs expressed. The two units, installed on the rooftop of the building, feature four compressors on two separate circuits to ensure continuity of performance and ensure the maintenance of climatic comfort for patients and healthcare workers, without the risk of interruptions.

But that's not all. The system is very quiet, an essential quality for hospital environments, and has already been set up for remote monitoring to prevent breakdowns and malfunctions: nothing is left to chance in HiRef.

What about corrosive weathering?

The units have a strong and durable structure, because they are built with premium materials and can withstand the corrosiveness of salt spray, wind pressure, and sun exposure. The finned coils, internal components, and external panels are treated with a double layer of epoxy paint that preserves them over time and limits routine and extraordinary maintenance-a nice saving of time and money!
