Linea Green is the company that manages district heating for the municipality of Lodi. This efficient and clean system is based on centralized heat production distributed to users via a network of double underground pipes, making individual boilers unnecessary. Its main customers include the city hospital.

Linea Green has found, supported by HiRef, a clever way to optimise its system and recover the heat coming from thermal by-products, resulting from cooling of three endothermal engines of different sizes, used for cogeneration.

How? By installing heat pumps of the KSW range, specific for high evaporation and condensation temperature requirements, which deliver 800 kW of thermal power at the delivery temperature of 80°C for the district heating network, allowing primary energy savings and avoiding direct combustion of methane gas.

The units are also equipped with an integrated MID system for measuring thermal power, which allowed the company to be granted White Certificates for its system.
